Equality Objectives
The Inclusive Learning Federation’s approach to equality is based upon the following principles:
- To ensure all learners are of equal value and we have the highest expectations of them.
- To recognise and respect difference.
- To foster positive attitudes and relationships and a shared sense of cohesion and belonging.
- To observe good equalities practice in staff recruitment, retention and development.
- To aim to reduce and remove inequalities and barriers that already exist.
- To promote spiritual, moral, social and cultural development through all appropriate curricular opportunities, with particular reference to issues of equality and diversity.
- To reduce prejudice and increase understanding of equality through direct teaching across the curriculum.
- To foster good relations further between different communities within our school.
- To promote cultural development and understanding through a rich range of experiences both in and beyond the school.
- To reduce the incidence of prejudice related bullying in relation to the protected characteristics listed in the Equality Act 2010.
- To reduce the number of prejudice-related incidents.
- To promote cultural understanding between different ethnic groups within our school community.
- To continually consider how well the school ensures equality of opportunities for all its pupils.
- To ensure conditions are in place to instil and embed a culture of belonging for our children, their families, staff and governors.
- To provide an inclusive education which enables our children to develop to their full potential.
- To ensure all staff have equality and diversity training.
